Soaking feet in warm water can help relieve headaches by increasing blood flow to the feet, reducing blood flow to the head. Drinking strong coffee can also help reduce headaches as caffeine can reduce blood vessel swelling. However, sudden caffeine withdrawal can cause headaches. Losing weight can also help reduce headaches, especially for overweight individuals. Taking migraine medication early can improve its effectiveness, and acupuncture has been shown to provide longer-lasting relief compared to medication. Finally, tinted lenses can help reduce migraines, as customized tint colors can reduce perceptual distortion and provide better comfort.

Warm your ankles to ease the discomfort

Soaking your feet in warm water is a natural way to get rid of a headache. It is thought that this method will send more blood to the feet and less to the head, which could make the pain go away.

Drink strong coffee …

Headaches can be relieved right away by drinking a strong cup of coffee. This is because caffeine can reduce blood vessel swelling, which is a major cause of headaches. Because of this, some drugs have caffeine in them.

…but don’t suddenly

If you drink coffee every day, you shouldn’t stop all of a sudden because you might get headaches from caffeine withdrawal. This happens when the lack of coffee causes the blood vessels to swell back up. The easiest way to feel better is to drink coffee again, but the best long-term answer is to slowly cut back on how much caffeine you usually drink.

Reduce weight to defeat headaches

If you are overweight and get headaches, losing weight could help you feel better. A study done in the US found that after six months, the number of headaches people who were overweight and had stomach-reduction surgery to lose weight had decreased by a lot. Researchers are still trying to find out if a less dramatic weight loss in people who are not obese has the same effect. But there are many other health benefits to losing extra weight, so there’s no reason to wait for the results.

Take tablets early

At the first sign of a migraine, like feeling sick or having trouble seeing, you should take your medicine right away. Studies have shown that migraine medicines like sumatriptan (Imigran) work better if you take them early. The same goes for other ways to ease pain. Waiting for the pain to start or trying to push through it can make the medicine work less well. So, it’s important to stick to the treatment plan your doctor gives you and take your medicine as soon as you notice signs.

If you have serious pain from migraines or cluster headaches, you might want to think about acupuncture. A recent review of research shows that acupuncture may give longer-lasting relief than either over-the-counter or prescription medicines. This old Chinese treatment has been shown to lessen the severity and frequency of headaches, which leads to fewer headaches generally.

Examine with colored glasses

Many people with migraines say that having tinted lenses makes their headaches go away. Researchers at Michigan State University have found proof that this claim is true. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was used to look at the brains of people with migraines while they wore tinted glasses made for them. On average, those who wore the lenses had half as many migraines as those who didn’t. Precision eye tinting was used to choose the tint color to give the best comfort and reduce “perceptual distortion.” (POT). Even though this method might not work for everyone with migraines, it could be helpful to ask your doctor if POT lenses could help you.

Consume ginger tea

Ginger has been used to treat migraines for a long time, and there is evidence that it can help reduce migraine headaches, though the exact reasons are not fully known. Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties that may help stop prostaglandins from doing their job. Prostaglandins are hormone-like chemicals that are made by the body that start the inflammatory reaction and add to the pain of migraines. To make this natural medicine, mix a teaspoon of freshly grated gingerroot with a cup of hot water. If you want, you can add a little honey and let the infusion cool a bit before drinking it.
